150 Years Old, and Just Getting Started.

With a Men’s Team founded in 1875, and a Women’s Team founded in 1978, Yale Rugby boasts two of the oldest and most successful college rugby teams in the world. Both teams are consistently ranked nationally and compete for league and national championships. They also consistently beat their traditional Ivy League rivals.

On the pitch, Yale Rugby is led by a coaching and training staff with over 100 years of combined coaching experience.

Financially, Yale Rugby is supported by Friends of Yale Rugby, an alumni, parents, and friends organization founded in the 2000s. FYR is currently engaged in a $5 million endowment drive to secure the future of Yale Rugby. You can learn more about FYR and ways you can support Yale Rugby here.

Administratively, Yale Rugby lives within the Club Sports Department at Yale University. We are the largest club sport at Yale, and with 90+ rostered athletes, we typically serve more student-athletes than all but three varsity sports at Yale.
